Miguel Cedeno-Calderon of Greenacres, Florida was arrested on April 12 for allegedly raping a 15-year-old in 2016.
Cedeno-Calderon, 21, is being charged with sexual battery. He was booked into Palm Beach County Jail and was released on Saturday on $75,000 bond. It is unclear if he has sought legal representation.
According to the arrest report, the alleged rape occurred on February 19, 2016 . Cedeno-Calderon, then 19, reportedly went to the victim’s home and accused the teen of cheating on him. He then started beating the victim after they refused to give him access to a phone.
Cedeno-Calderon threw the teen against a wall and repeatedly punched them, injuring the 15-year-old’s head and stomach, the report said. He then raped the teen and then dropped them off at school.
The teen asked an adult for help and was taken to a hospital. The 15-year-old suffered from internal swelling and bruising. Hospital staff used a sexual assault kit test to gather DNA and it reportedly matches Cedeno-Calderon.
Police attempted to contact Cedeno-Calderon, who is a Cuban citizen, a week after the alleged rape, but he had reportedly traveled back to Cuba.
Another incident involving an adult and a minor was reported in Fort Lauderdale last week. TSA agent Gary Linder was arrested on April 4 for attempting to have sex with an 11-year-old girl.
Linder, 27, faces charges for attempting to produce child pornography and sending obscene materials to a minor. The press did not name an attorney for him.
According to the arrest report, Linder became acquainted with the alleged victim through her parents. They exchanged phone numbers in January 2018 and he reportedly started sending her inappropriate text messages. The victim’s parents saw the texts in February and called the police.
An undercover detective assumed the identity of the victim and continued communicating with Linder. They reportedly continued the correspondence for several weeks. He sent the detective pictures of his penis, adult pornography, masturbation instructions along with pictures of female genitals, and lewd details of his sexual fantasies with the victim.
Linder eventually arranged to meet the victim at a park in Plantation with the intention of having sex with her in his vehicle. He was arrested by police officers at meeting place. He reportedly gave authorities a written confession and admitted that he was communicating with several other minors.
A spokesperson for the TSA told news sources that Linder was hired by the agency in November 2016 and that they were in the process of ending his employment.
Under Florida law, the age of sexual consent is 18 years old. Teens aged 16 and 17 can legally consent to sex with someone under 23, but anyone older than 24 commits a felony if they have sex with someone under 18.
